Important Information
- Lab work- you must call at least 24 hours in advance
to set up a time to have your blood drawn, or to request an
order be sent to the laboratory. For certain labs you will
need to be fasting, that means nothing to eat or drink after
around 10 P.M. on the night prior to your blood draw. You
may have all the water or black coffee you want. If you take
any medication, you may take it in the morning with water,
unless otherwise directed.
- Physicals- you must be fasting for the lab portion of
the exam. We ask that you be sure to drink enough water or
black coffee so that we may obtain a urine specimen when
you arrive. Also, please do not use any lotions, creams, or
powders prior to your appointment. Face creams and
deodorant may be used the day of your physical exam.
- Injections- you must call at least 24 hours in advance
to set up a time for the injection to be given. Make sure to
bring the vaccine with you, if necessary. Injections are not
done on Monday's.
- Mammograms- you will need to know the date of your last
mammogram so the support staff may schedule the appointment
for you. If there are times and dates that you will not be
available for this, please let us know and we will do our
best to get you a convenient appointment time.
- Prescription refills- you should contact your pharmacy
to request refills of your medication. The pharmacist will
then contact the office. If your physician has not seen you
in the last year, or you need blood tests, you will need to
set up an appointment before your medications will be refilled
- Mail-away prescriptions- you should call the office to
request a new written prescription. Be sure to indicate the
medication name, strenght, and the dosing instructions. The
prescription will be available to pick up the next business
day, or we can mail it to your home.
- Forms- in order for your doctor to effectively meet
your needs, you must make an appointment and bring the papers
with you then. This allows the doctor to interact with you,
complete the papers thoroughly, and give them back to you
at the time of the visit.
- Referrals- if your insurance company requires a referral
from your primary care physician, you will need to contact
the office with the following information: the name of who
you will be seeing, their phone and fax numbers, the reason
you will be seeing the specialist, and the date of your
appointment. Please allow 7 business days for the referrals
to be processed.
